Read Phil. 3:8-11. The apostle Paul said that he had suffered the loss of all things so that he could win Christ and that was ok with him because gaining Christ was and is the most important thing even if it means the loss of all things and suffering for it. People today think just the opposite. They think gaining Christ gets them health, wealth and emotional bliss. Someone said, "Modern Christianity, in dramatic reversal of its biblical form, promises to relieve the pain of living in a fallen world."
